Never pay outside Tajma
Never pay anything outside the platform: no deposit, no Mobile Money advance. The only valid deposit is the one offered by the official button in the chat, tracked in your order. Any direct payment request (Airtel Money, Moov Money, Zamani) is the #1 sign of a scam.

Handover tracked in Tajma
Complete everything inside the platform: tracked order, payment settled online before handover, handover proven by QR + code in the app. That is your proof. If the handover happens in person, choose a busy place during the day and bring someone with you for high-value items.

Check the verified seller badge
Sellers who completed identity verification display a badge on their profile. Prefer verified profiles. Tap the seller's name to open their profile: the 'verified' badge only appears if their identity was checked by identity verification.

Inspect the item before paying
Test the product, check documents (vehicles, land) and compare with the listing photos. For a phone, insert your SIM card and test every function; for a vehicle, require the original registration card.

Beware of prices that are too low
A price far below market often hides a scam or a defective product. Compare similar listings. Compare at least three equivalent ads: if the gap exceeds half the average price, walk away.

Never share your codes
Tajma will never ask for your password or Mobile Money codes. Never share them with anyone. A real Tajma agent will never write to you outside the platform to ask for a code: hang up and report the number.

Communicate via the Tajma chat
Keep your exchanges in the platform chat: the history serves as proof in case of dispute. Do not move to WhatsApp or direct calls to close a deal: without a written history, no mediation is possible.

Report suspicious listings
A seller who refuses the tracked order, changes the price at the last minute or pressures you? Report the listing immediately. Use the 'Report' button on the ad and attach screenshots: moderation reviews every alert within 24 hours.

Confirm the handover in the app
For large amounts, have the handover and payment confirmed by both parties in Tajma: names, amount in F, date. That is your tamper-proof receipt. For vehicles and land, also check the seller's ID.

Trust your instincts
When in doubt, cancel the transaction. Better to miss a good deal than to lose your money. A 'unique opportunity' demanding an immediate answer is almost always a trap: take time to verify.
